Sanjay Leela Bhansali police protection

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film ‘Padmavati’ has been facing a lot of roadblocks ever since its announcement. Many would be aware of this fact that the Shri Rajput Karni Sena is against the film because as per them it shows Rani Padmavati in a bad light. Apart from this, they were against one rumoured scene which was to be a dream sequence between Rani Padmavati and Sultan Alauddin Khilji. It was just yesterday when filmmaker Bhansali shared a video yet again clarifying that the film doesn’t have any scene between these two characters and he will never hamper Rani Padmavati’s reputation. But, to avoid any personal damage the filmmaker has been given 24-hour police protection, till the movie hits the theatres. Quite understandable, as Bhansali was manhandled and beaten by Karni Sena some time back, which initiated this controversy.

The filmmaker’s office is in Juhu and we have got pictures of Mumbai police officers sitting outside, providing him full protection. (Also Read: Padmavati Alert: Shri Rajput Sabha writes to PM for a nationwide ban on the film)

Well, even after a number of clarifications that have been released, certainly the controversy does not seem to come to an end. We can only pray that the filmmaker is safe from any harm.

‘Padmavati’ stars Deepika Padukone playing the titular role, Shahid Kapoor playing the role of Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji. It is currently in the final stages, and undergoing post-production work.

The film is slated to hit the screens on December 1.
