Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar‘s ‘Jolly LL.B 2’, which hits the screens tomorrow, is the story of a man standing against a corrupt state machinery. This is not the first time that Akshay Kumar is playing a refreshingly relevant character. Especially, his recent releases in a row have got an unique sense of patriotism and bravery.

However, the actor says it was never a conscious choice to uphold or preach social messages. Rather, he chooses films based upon their content.

“I don’t do films to bring changes in people’s minds. I do films which I believe in. So I present the films which I believe in. If anybody likes the film or not, that depends on people,” he told a news agency. (Also Read: Here’s what Arshad Warsi has to say on Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Jolly LL.B 2’ court case)

The 2012 film ‘OMG- Oh My God’ completely stirred a part of the society as it pointed at the unsubstantial religious blindness many of us fall prey to.

“I did a film called OMG – Oh My God! because I don’t believe in idol worship. I believe god is within us. I feel why are we wasting milk by pouring it over god’s idols… Rather than that, we should give it to some poor person. A lot of people tell me that they liked that film and now don’t follow the same,” Akshay added.

‘Jolly LL.B 2’, directed by Subhash Kapoor, hits the screens tomorrow i.1. 10th February, 2017.
