Sunil Grover in legal trouble

After tackling one controversy, another one has cropped up for actor-comedian Sunil Grover. Post the ugly spat with Kapil Sharma, Sunil quit his show and started performing live in various cities like Delhi, Dubai and Vadodara. His live show has become a hit amongst the audiences. As he was all set to perform live on May 27 in Ahmedabad, a city-based event organizer named Rajpal Shah has filed a case against him for cheating and criminal conspiracy. According to reports, Rajpal has stated that Sunil Grover’s manager and event organiser Devang Shah had promises to organise a show with Sunil, but breached the contract and now will be holding a similar event at a different location in Ahmedabad and that too for a higher price. Devang Shah spoke up with Ahmedabad Times, “We keep on getting 4-5 enquiries for one specific date regarding Sunil’s performances in India as well as abroad. In this case, we were not keen on doing the event on May 27 due to another concert happening on the same day . Rajpal Shah also enquired for the possibility of May 20, which couldn’t be worked out due to Sunil’s tight schedule. I returned him the advance amount of `10 lakh. So there’s no case of cheating and I have all the bank statements which I can present for the same.”

Rajpal has registered a complaint under sections 417 and 120 (B) of IPC. City-based lawyer Ashish Desai says, “The complaint is under cheating of criminal breach of trust contract. The complainant is at the loss of goodwill and must have suffered some financial losses of cancellation charges from venue, security, hospitality team as well as must have gotten into some problems from the sponsors as well. Although, all of this needs to be proved in the court that’s when it will be taken in consideration.”

Well, well. Seems like trouble is not over for Sunil. Let’s wait for more developments on the case.
