Shah Rukh Khan

During the promotions of ‘Raees’, Shah Rukh Khan had opted for a unique strategy to promote his film by traveling in a train. #RaeesbyRail is what we all witnessed when SRK took the rail route to travel to Delhi, his hometown. But unfortunately, mid-way in Vadodara, one of his fans died while flocking towards the railway station to get a glimpse of their star.

Following this, Mumbai based advocate and activist Abha Singh, had urged the GRP to file a case against Shah Rukh Khan and the producers of this film. A latest report had it that summons were sent to SRK and Excel Entertainment to appear in the court and record their statements. But now, as per the orders of Gujarat High Court, a stay has been put up on this summon.

Shah Rukh Khan’s lawyer Salil Thakore challenged this summon by GRP in Gujarat High Court and argued that a person cannot be summoned if he/she is not staying within the limits of the police station. This is as per the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).

After considering all this thoroughly, the Gujarat High Court has now put a stay on the summon. Some relief for now. Let’s wait for further updates on this case. (Also Read: Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma to do ‘Balle Balle’ in Imtiaz Ali’s next)
