A couple of days back, Alia Bhatt revealed the first poster of her upcoming release ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. In no time, it started trending on Twitter. The poster has a decked up Alia flaunting her killer waist line and posing with a jolly smile while co-star Varun Dhawan whistles at us.
Quite a peppy one, right? However, we just found out that this one looks stunningly similar to the poster of ‘Garam’, a 2016 Telegu film. Check for yourself! (Also See: ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ trailer: Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt are coming to entertain us)
Pretty much same, right? Albeit, the makers are rather ‘flattered’ that a Karan Johar film has picked the idea.
“The similarity is uncanny. But we believe the film industry is like one family. We don’t mind it [resemblance]; their poster looks lovely. Karan (Johar, producer of Badrinath Ki Dulhania) is also a filmmaker like us. We don’t want to jeopardise their film. We also copy stuff, because ours is an industry that runs on borrowed ideas,” Babji Bagavatula, co-producer of ‘Garam’ told a leading daily.
“We don’t want to do anything about it. It’s flattering that our idea went on to become the first look of a KJo film,” Saikumar, another producer of the film, laughed.
Okay then!
