Rati Agnihotri booked for tampering electricity meter and not paying Rs 49 lakh

Veteran actress Rati Agnihotri is back in news and for all the wrong reasons. The actress and her businessman husband Anil Virwani have recently been booked in a case of electricity theft of a whopping amount of Rs 49.98 lakh at their Worli residence.

According to reports, the actress and her hubby apparently tampered the electricity meter of their apartment in Worli, Mumbai, which was noticed by Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST), when they recently paid a visit to their adobe.

Rati owns a sea facing apartment in the area.

The BEST official claimed that the family had not paid for 1,77,647 units of electricity by tampering the meter since April 4, 2013, according to a police report on the same.
