Post his return from prison, Sanjay Dutt is busy working on his comeback vehicle ‘Bhoomi’. Directed by Omung Kumar, ‘Bhoomi’ revolves around an intense father-daughter relationship.
Dutt, having spent five cumulative years in jail, has certainly transformed as a human being. But a more difficult time was probably when he under excessive drug addiction. Getting rid of that must have been a bigger freedom!
In a recent conversation with Mid-Day, he was quizzed about his addiction. After all, what’s so nice about drugs that people willingly fall into the trap? (Also Read: Sanjay Dutt stunned to see Ranbir Kapoor’s striking resemblance to him, from his biopic)
“No. What is so enjoyable about anything mood-altering, when you can get the biggest high, from life, family, or your work? There’s something natural called adrenaline — there is no drug in the world that can replicate it. But that is the best high that anybody can get. Smoking marijuana, dope and all, is just mood-altering. I’ve heard guys say, ‘Maine do joint maara, and what a performance I gave’. When your mind is altered, how are you going to make decisions?,” Dutt answered.
An enlarged vision and a more humble insight, both are visible in his words. Dutt’s life now revolves around his work, wife Maanayata who stuck to him through all thick and thins, and his lovely children.
