When Alia Bhatt gave a special autograph to father Mahesh Bhatt

We all know that Alia Bhatt’s father, Mahesh Bhatt, is very well known filmmaker. However, Alia was not launched by him; instead the actress was launched by Karan Johar. Alia in a very short span of time has made a mark in the industry and Mahesh Bhatt is quite proud of her. Recently, while promoting his upcoming production venture ‘Begum Jaan’, Mahesh Bhatt spoke about Alia, and revealed that the actress had given him a special autograph soon after her first film.

Mahesh Bhatt had come on a show on a leading entertainment channel, and when the host asked him that what was that one thing his daughter has taught him, the filmmaker said, “She has a thirst, which is beyond my comprehension. She has the longing to transcend the cinematic space and look beyond.”

“I said, ‘Look, Alia, whenever you get a little too impressed with your performance, just take a look at the work of the mightiest and it will demolish you. You need to deconstruct yourself all the time’. And she said to me, ‘I just don’t want to be only an actor. I want to be something more’. At the age of 23, she’s such a big star, she has become famous, is standing on her two feet without holding her father’s hand. One of the greatest gifts she gave me which is not known much is that after ‘SOTY’ (‘Student Of The Year’) she gave me her first autograph and it said, ‘Thank You, Papa, for not helping me at all’. Well, Mahesh Bhatt has all the reasons to be proud. Alia indeed is shining bright in the industry and for all the right reasons.
