Jagdish Raj Khurana was a Bollywood actor who holds a Guinness World Record for being the most type-cast actor. He played a police inspector in 144 films. Some of his well-known movies include 'Deewar', 'Don', 'Shakti' and 'Silsila'.
Sameer Anjaan
Sameer Anjaan is one of the most creative and prolific lyricists. He has composed a phenomenal 3,524 different songs as of December 15, 2015. He has popular songs like 'Jab Se Tere Naina' (Saawariya), 'Tum Paas Aaye' (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) and 'Nazar Ke Saamne' (Aashiqui) to his credit.
‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’ – Highest number of awards
Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel's first movie 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai' won the highest number of awards for the movie and was added to the Guinness Book of World Records. It won a total of 92 awards.
‘Bahubali – The Beginning’ poster
The blockbuster movie 'Bahubali - The Beginning' made the largest poster which was more than 50,000 sq ft. It earned the Guinness World Record for making the largest poster. The poster has an area of 4,793.65 m² (51,598.21 ft²) and was achieved by Global United Media Company Pvt Ltd (India) in Kochi, India, on 27 June, 2015. This record was earlier held by the film 'Boss'.
Kapoors – Biggest on screen family of Bollywood
The Kapoor family is the biggest family of Bollywood. Since Prithviraj Chauhan first acted on the big screen in 1929, 24 members of the Kapoor's extended family have worked in films. He was followed into acting by his three sons, Raj, Shammi and Shashi and other relatives. Other famous relatives through marriage include top star Amitabh Bachchan, directors Ramesh Sippy and Manmohan Desai. Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor are the grand-children of Prithviraj Kapoor. This family has been in the record book since 1999.
Asha Bhosle – Most Recorded Artist
Asha Bhosle has mesmerised us with her soulful renditions since 1947. She has to her credit 11000 solo recordings, duets and chorus backed songs and many others in over 20 Indian languages. She was honoured the most recorded artist in music history in 2011 by the Guinness Book of World Records in the year 2011.
Kumar Sanu
Kedarnath Bhattacharya, better known as Kumar Sanu is a leading Indian playback singer, mostly popular for rendering his voice in Bollywood movies in the 1990s and early 2000. He holds the Guinness Book world record for recording the maximum number of songs in a day, 28, in the year 1993.
Sonakshi Sinha
Actress Sonakshi Sihna became a Guinness World Record holder for participating in an event where most people painted their fingernails simultaneously.
Abhishek Bachchan
Actor Abhishek Bachchan broke the Guinness record of German actors like Jorgen Vogel and Daniel for making the highest number of public appearances by a film star. While promoting his film 'Delhi 6' in the year 2009, Junior Bachchan made the highest number of public appearances at different cities in 12 hours. He visited the EDM Mall in Ghaziabad, Spice at Noida, Crown Plaza in Faridabad, Select Citywalk, Ambience Mall and Central Mall in Chandigarh and Shoppers' Stop in Juhu in Mumbai.
Amitabh Bachchan
The legend of Indian cinema Amitabh Bachchan created a Guinness world record for becoming the only star to sing the devotional ‘Shri Hanuman Chalisa’ composed by Shekhar Ravjiani of the Vishal-Shekhar musical duo, along with 19 other popular singers that included Aadesh Shrivastava, Abhijit, Babul Supriyo, Hansraj Hans, Kailash Kher, Kay Kay, Kumar Sanu, Kunal Ganjawala, Manoj Tiwari, Mukul Aggarwal, Prasoon Joshi, Roopkumar Rathod, Shaan, Shankar Mahadevan, Sonu Nigam, Sukhwinder Singh, Suresh Wadkar, Udit Narayan and Vinod Rathod.
Yaadein (1964 movie)
'Yaadein' is a 1964 black and white Hindi film directed and produced by Sunil Dutt also starring himself. The only other actor in the film is Nargis Dutt that too in a silhouette in the final scene. This film is the first Indian film in cinema that features only a single actor and hence has found an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records in the category Fewest actors in a narrative film.
Lalita Pawar
Yesteryear actress Lalita Pawar has acted non-stop for 70 years. She made her debut at the age of 12 and appeared in more than 700 films in Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi. Some of her memorable films include 'Anari', 'Shri 420' and 'Mr & Mrs 55', 'Junglee', etc..
