Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt confirmed as lead actors in Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Sadak 2’?

There have been a number of speculations around ‘Sadak 2’ and the cast of the film since it was announced by Pooja Bhatt. Now, if the latest reports are to be believed, then Alia Bhatt has finally said yes to ‘Sadak 2’ which also stars Sanjaty Dutt in the lead.

As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt will be seen as the main characters in the film and it will also star Aditya Roy Kapur and Pooja Bhatt.

As per the report, the sources close to the movie claim “The shooting will start by the end of this month and they are planning to release it by November 15, 2019. Now since the date is out, it seems that the project has finally taken a concrete shape. This movie is although more special because Mahesh Bhatt will directing his daughter Alia for the first time ever and so, there is already a lot of hype around the film for sure.”

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Mahesh Bhatt had said, “Sanjay who was 32 when we made the original, comes back as a 54-year-old Ravi into the 21st-century world that is collapsing in front of his eyes, where the distinction between the house and the ‘sadak’ is fast disappearing.”

He added, “The story has the emotional connect of the films I made back in the ’90s which brought a lump to the throats of the viewer. I could see that in the reaction of those present at the narration. They were visibly moved.”

For those who don’t know; ‘Sadak’, which released in 1991, starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in the lead.

If these reports of the star cast are true, Alia will be collaborating with her father for the first time. It will be great to see her and Pooja together on screen too. We hope the makers make an announcement soon confirming the news.
