Milan Luthria’s ‘Baadshaho’ is creating a good pre-release buzz. The film gets the trio of ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai’ back with Milan wearing the director’s hat and Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi playing the lead roles. The movie also stars Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta, Vidyut Jammwal and Sanjay Mishra. Few days ago, the track ‘Mere Rashke Qamar’ from the movie was out, and it showed a sizzling chemistry between Ajay and Ileana. We even got to see a bareback shot of the latter, in the song.
Reportedly, there’s an intimate scene in the movie between Ajay and Ileana which has a duration of approximately 10 minutes. But, Milan has decided to trim it down as he doesn’t want to have an issue with CBFC and wants the movie to get a ‘U/A’ certificate.
A source told a tabloid, “The scene between Ileana and Ajay, if left as is, lasts for 10 minutes. It’s aesthetically shot and is crucial to the film’s plot. But Milan decided to shorten it, trimming the kisses and bareback shots. He didn’t want to attract the wrath of the Censors. The film is all-out commercial and he wants it to get a U/A certificate. The scene would have resulted in an A certificate. Milan doesn’t want to face controversy ahead of release.” (Also Read: Ajay Devgn announces his new film ‘Taanaji – The Unsung Warrior’)
Recently, in an interview, when Milan was asked about ‘Baadshaho’ being compared to ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai’, the director said, “Even if people feel the hangover of ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai’ looking at ‘Baadshaho’ it’s ok. I don’t fear that comparison (referring to story and recreating the success of the film) as both the stories are completely different.”
“One was a gangster film about the rise and fall of two gangsters, this ‘Baadshaho’ is an action drama film about the six main characters and the heist that takes place against the backdrop of 1975 Emergency period,” he added.
The filmmaker further stated, “It was special to work with Ajay and Emraan again, who transformed themselves for the film. Also, it was special working with Vidyut Jammwal, Ileana D’Cruz, Esha Gupta and Sanjay Mishra. We have designed special looks for each of them.”
‘Baadshaho’ is slated to hit the screens on September 1, 2017.
