One of Aamir Khan’s most critically acclaimed films, ‘Sarfarosh’ is finally being remade after 19 long years. The film which featured Aamir, Sonali Bendre, and Naseeruddin Shah, will now see John Abraham in the leading role. According to a report in Mid-Day, the director of the original film, John Matthew Matthan, has come on-board for the sequel as well.
The director himself approached the ‘Force 2’ actor to portray the role of Aamir Khan’s ACP Rathod. A source close to the leading daily also revealed that the sequel will shed light on Naxal movement in India. The source added, “Abraham and Matthan are in advance talks for the film. The sequel will revolve around the Naxal movement and red corridor in India. The first instalment touched upon this topic in passing. There is a possibility that it will take off from there.”
We are now waiting for the director to give an official word.
Meanwhile, speaking of John Abraham’s other projects, the actor has Milap Zaveri’s ‘Satyameva Jayate’ lined up. Also featuring Aisha Sharma, Manoj Bajpayee, the film release on August 15. ‘Satyameva Jayate’ will be locking horns with Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gold’ featuring Mouni Roy, Sunny Kaushal, Kunal Kapoor among others.
