The moment we think that the #MeToo controversy in Bollywood has slowed down, new names pop up. The moment director Rajkumar Hirani‘s name came out, we were shocked. The ‘Sanju’ director was accused of sexual assault by a woman who worked with him. As per the accusations, the woman was assaulted between March 2018 and September 2018, when she was working for ‘Sanju’. Now as per a report in Cineblitz, the filmmaker is under self-imposed house arrest.
A neighbour of Rajkumar Hirani said Cineblitz that Hirani has stopped going for a morning walk. Also, a source revealed that he has lost weight. “Hirani has undoubtedly lost a lot of weight. Since the allegations surfaced, no one has seen him leave the premise. It’s almost like he is under self-imposed house-arrest,” said the source.
Hiran’s name was dropped from the credits of ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’. Many celebs like Dia Mirza, Arshad Warsi, Sharman Joshi and Boney Kapoor among others have come out in support of the filmmaker. In spite of support, the accusations seem to have a deep impact in the mind of Rajkumar Hirani.
Post the allegations, Hirani had denied all the allegations against him. His lawyer (Anand Desai) told Huff Post India, “At the outset, our client states that the allegations made against him are false, mischievous, scandalous, motivated and defamatory.”
We don’t know whether Rajkumar Hirani is innocent or guilty. But whatever the truth is, it should be brought to light. What do you think?
