Sequel of Alia Bhatt’s ‘Raazi’ on the anvil? Deets inside

Last year, director Meghna Gulzar‘s film ‘Raazi’ took everyone by surprise. The film introduced us to Sehmat and left us all in awe of her sacrifice and her courage. The film starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in lead went on to become a huge hit last year.

Now, if you loved that film, then we have great news for you. As we all know, the film was based on the book ‘Calling Sehmat’ written by Harinder Sikka. Much to everyone’s pleasant surprise, the author is working on the sequel of the book which he has titled as ‘Remembering Sehmat’.

Talking about his plans on writing the sequel, Harinder told Mid-Day, “After I wrote ‘Calling Sehmat’ in 2008, I spent another 10 years with her, on and off, depending on the little time she gave me. [The book will focus on] how she went into depression after the mission but fought her way out of it.”

The writer went on to share that the sequel will focus on Sehmat’s journey post her return from Pakistan. All the mysteries surrounding her will be decoded in the next book. With a sequel of the book being made, we wonder if Meghna Gulzar too will think about making a sequel of ‘Raazi’. We wish that she does and takes the story of Sehmat forward.
