Miffed Shahid Kapoor walks out off an award show, as an award promised to him was handed to Ranveer Singh?

Shahid Kapoor is one of the best actors in Bollywood. Though his last release ‘Kabir Singh’ was highly criticised, performance-wise Shahid did a terrific job. It can be said as one of his best performances after ‘Udta Punjab’.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, Shahid was promised a prestigious Best Actor Popular Award at an award function. The actor was elated that he was getting the award and was also about to perform at the award night. But he didn’t get the award and walked out of the show.

Pinkvilla quoted a source saying, “It was an understanding that Shahid will perform because he was bagging the award. He had rehearsed for the performance too.”

The source further said, “Shahid apparently lost his cool on the organisers because it was an unprofessional move on their part to sneakily change the whole scenario. He was reportedly very upset with how the whole thing was addressed. The award was then presented to Ranveer Singh and Shahid then supposedly walked out of the show. He was to perform but he decided not to record his performance as well.”

When Times of India tried to contact Shahid, a source close to the actor rubbished the rumours and said, “Shahid is a thorough professional and a man of his words. Therefore, even though the doctor had advised him bed rest, he tried to fulfill his commitments for a recent award ceremony to the best ability. Although he again fell severely ill, Shahid didn’t want anyone to suffer any kind of loss.”
