Sidharth Malhotra is all set to be back on the big screen and woo his fans. Yes, the ‘Kapoor and Sons’ actor who was last seen on the big screen in ‘Aiyaary’ is gearing up for his next, Vikram Batra biopic, which is reportedly set to go on floors in April.
As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, the film is likely to be titled Kargil’s ‘Sher Shah’, the title given to the officer in the intercepted messages of Pakistan army. A source close to the development told the tabloid, “Sid will start off shooting the college portions at DAV College where Vikram studied. From there the shoot will move to Palampur where the captain lived with his family. Major war portions will be shot in Kashmir and Leh Ladakh. Vishnuwardhan, who is helming this film, has completed the recce. And Sidharth will commence the training with real army men once he wraps up ‘Marjaavaan'”
Captain Vikram Batra was 24 when he died in the Kargil war. He was awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military award. His family members were a big help to the makers of his biopic and gave a rare insight into his character.
The makers of the war drama are now on the lookout for a female lead to play the role of Vikram Batra’s girlfriend Dimple Cheema. Bankrolled by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Shabbir Boxwala, the film is expected to release in the first half of 2020.
