Is this actress replacing Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Shailesh R Singh’s next?

Before ‘Gulab Jamun’, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and hubby Abhishek Bachchan were offered a cop drama by Shailesh R Singh. The film didn’t take off as planned, and Aishwarya told DNA that there had been no ‘progress’ since February. Recently, Abhishek added, “The cop movie is not happening.”

But according to a recent report in the same daily, the film has not been shelved. The source said, “Shailesh and his team of writers have reworked the script. It’s still a drama, but with humorous undertones. The main characters are two IPS officers who are married to each other.”

The source also informed that the film has now been offered to Taapsee Pannu, “The makers have discussed the idea with her. It’s a strong female character, so the producers were looking out for someone with substance to deliver the part. Taapsee is yet to get a proper narration. Only then will she decide whether she wants to do it or not,” added the source.

Currently, Taapsee Pannu is having a busy schedule as the actress has four upcoming films in her kitty. She has Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Manmarziyaan’ opposite Abhishek Bachchan and Vicky Kaushal, ‘Badla’ with Amitabh Bachchan, ‘Womaniya’ and Anurag Basu’s untitled next.
