Is Vidya Balan being paid a whopping amount for NTR’s biopic?

Last year actress Vidya Balan enthralled everyone with her performance in ‘Tumhari Sulu’. And this year she is all set to make her debut in Telugu film industry with the actor, filmmaker and politician NTR’s biopic. The actress will be playing NTR’s wife Basavatarakam in the film.

Interestingly we came to know that Vidya has been paid a fat paycheck to star in this biopic. According to a report in India Today, Vidya has been apparently paid around Rs. 1.5 crore by the makers of this film.  Reportedly its also being said that actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, who will be playing NTR in the film, convinced the actress to come on board for this project.

Previously while talking about why she took up this project, Vidya had told Mumbai Mirror, “It’s a biopic on NTR and while Basavatarakam is not NTR, she is extremely integral to his story and that’s why I’m doing this film. I’m looking forward to the experience. Their storyline and screenplay were in place, but work is in progress yet. I still don’t know what it is about this film that interested me. Let’s say it was an instinctive decision.”

Well, with the kind of spectacular films Vidya Balan has to her credit, it is very much understood that any filmmaker would look forward to casting her in their film. So if these reports are true then we are more than happy for her, as actresses like her very well deserve this kind of fat paycheck. Don’t you guys agree with us?
