10 arguments Aryan Khan made in his bail plea: No connection with organisers; chats with Achit Kumar about football, not drugs

The cruise ship drug scandal has clearly grabbed headlines after Aryan Khan was arrested by the NCB in the case, on October 3. The starkid, along with several others, were part of the Cordelia cruise, that NCB claims hosted a rave party. After being questioned and confronted by the NCB in the last four days, Aryan Khan had applied for bail today. But while NCB further sought his custody till October 11, claiming they have found clues to something sinister, the Mumbai Court addressed the same and called for 14-day judicial custody of the accused, including Aryan, his friend Arbaaz Merchant and fashion designer Munmun Dhamecha, who have remained in NCB custody since October 3.

The Esplanade Magistrate will be hearing Aryan’s bail plea tomorrow at 11 am, and his lawyer Satish Maneshinde has prepared a very strong argument for the same. Here are 10 points mentioned by Aryan and his lawyer in his bail plea, that need to be highlighted.

1. Confrontation cannot be grounds for custody.

2. There is a series of chats between me and Pratik Gaba but it does not refer to any rave party; the NCB is investigating a rave party.

3. I have no connection with organisers. Arbaaz (Merchant) is a friend but I’m not connected with his activities.

4. Based on what they found on my mobile, they arrested me.

5. Why is custodial interrogation necessary? They could have confronted me today.

6. People who are put in judicial custody can also be confronted when required.

7. Nothing was done as far as I’m concerned.

8. They did not confront me for two nights. I have no complaints, why will I not cooperate with them?

9. Yesterday, after they arrested him (Achit Kumar), they could have confronted him with Aryan Khan and Arbaaz Merchant. NCB is well equipped, they have more than 100 officers.

10. How long does it take them to download chats? Tomtomming from the rooftop does not make it a conspiracy. Chats with Achit Kumar are about football and football does not contain any drugs.
