The first half of ‘2.0’ left me open-mouthed with its amazing visual effects and gripping storyline. Yes, according to me, this movie has blockbuster written all over it. A lot of children will love it as the plot has elements of comic book action.
The movie starts with a cell phone induced apocalypse where everyone’s device goes missing. Science cannot explain it and Dr. Vaseegaran attributes it to an unknown fifth force. Most of the first half involves the unveiling of this mystery.

We won’t give you any more details because we want you to watch the film (preferably in 3D). We can say that the story moves at a quick pace and you have to give it to the film’s editor for not wasting any of your time. If I have one complaint, it’s that Akshay Kumar is not given enough screen time. It looks like that’s going to change in the second half.
The action scenes are amazing and of an international standard. The Hindi dubbing is seamless but the lip movement does waver at times.
All in all, unlike ‘Thugs of Hindostan’, this movie doesn’t do injustice to the mammoth budget invested in it.
