Babumoshai Bandookbaaz 48 cuts

When we saw the trailer of Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’, the first thing that came to our minds was will this film get a clear release or will CBFC be the villain yet again? And sadly, the latter has happened.

The film has received an ‘A’ certificate from CBFC, but with 48 cuts, and of course makers are not ready for it. Reportedly, when the film was screened to CBFC, some members of the board even misbehaved with the film’s producer Kiran Shroff. A complaint about the same has been registered with the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTADA).

Director Kushan Nandy has stated that CBFC has asked for cuts which include cuss words, kissing scenes, intimate scenes and dialogues. When a leading daily contacted CBFC Chief, Pahlaj Nihalani about the same, he said, “That’s our job as per rule.”

The director told the daily, “It is the responsibility of the state and the law enforcers to see that kids don’t watch adult films. Yet, we have been asked to remove certain (cuss) words from the dialogues of a contract killer. My film is based in UP and it will sound weird if I muffle words.”

The makers have also kept a press conference to speak about the 48 cuts they have received. (Also Read: How Divya Dutta buried herself in neck-deep mud for ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’)

Well, the movie has been in news for all the wrong reasons. First Chitrangada Singh left the movie because reportedly she was not happy with the love making scenes in the film, then there was a conflict between the casting director of the movie and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the former had stated that they couldn’t cast good looking people with Nawaz, and now, the issue with CBFC.

‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ is slated to hit the screens on August 25, 2017. Let’s see if the film will be able to release without any cuts, or the makers will have to bow down to CBFC.
