The brooding persona, those intense eyes, his impactful voice went on to make actor Amitabh Bachchan the first ‘Angry Young Man’ in Bollywood. An inspiration to many in the film industry and otherwise, undoubtedly Big B is the greatest actor Indian cinema has ever produced. There are countless admirers out there who grew up watching his movies. In a career spanning over four decades, the actor has worked in over 250 films and still counting.
But, certainly like any other actor, Big B’s first film is too special to him. Many would be aware that the megastar had made his acting debut with the 1969 released ‘Saat Hindustani’. And it was on February 15, 1969 when Big B had signed his first film, hence completing 49 years in the film industry, today. (Also Read: Did you know? The megastar took to his Twitter handle to share a collage of several stills from his debut film ‘Saat Hindustani’. He tweeted, “T 2615 – 49 years ago I came to the city of dreams and signed my first film .. “Saat Hindustani’ on Feb 15, 1969 ..”

Talking about the film ‘Saat Hindustani’, it was directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas popularly known as KA Abbas and it revolved around the heroic story of seven Indians who made an attempt to liberate Goa from the colonial rule of Portuguese. The iconic film had hit the screens on November 7, 1969.
Interestingly, Big B won the prestigious National Film Award for his brilliant debut performance. The film even went on to win the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration and Best Lyrics for late Kaifi Azmi at the National Film Awards.
Indeed, it’s a special day as an enigma called Amitabh Bachchan had officially joined the film industry.
