Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal hit the theatres on December 1 and brought about a storm at the box office. Despite being an A-rated film, it has shattered box office records. Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal beats Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, collected Rs 116 crores on Day at the worldwide box office, with Rs 54.75 crores in Hindi itself. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial also features Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Triptii Dimri. It has connected well with the audiences, and here are 5 reasons that make it a blockbuster already. ‘
5 reasons that make Animal a must-watch
Ranbir Kapoor supremacy
What Animal does is explore the full potential of Ranbir Kapoor as an action star. It shows him in his full glory. The sociopathic behaviour that his character Vijay shows, is brought out so effortlessly and convincingly by the actor. Ranbir has truly imbibed Vijay, and when he is on screen, you see only Vijay. You feel scared of what he might do, but you also feel a pull towards him. You don’t justify his wrongdoings but he does make you curious of what he will do next. The film truly shows a never-seen-before Ranbir.
Unapologetic violence
The makers of Animal graciously accepted the A certificate considering the violence the film shows. And truly, it has to be the most violent film to have come out of Indian cinema. But what makes even the most grotesque parts of it don’t seem unnecessary is because they are all there for a reason. Sandeep has truly been unabashed and unapologetic in exploring the action genre like never before. Some of the sequences might even left you squirming, but still hooked to the screen.
Bobby Deol impact
Bobby’s one glimpse in the teaser had left the audience drooling over him. The film is just more of that. The charisma and rawness he brings to the character, leaves you in awe of him. This is a Bobby that has never appeared on the big screen before. His impulsive nature is just so engaging, and his fight sequence with Ranbir is a big highlight of the film already.
Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna chemistry
There is a certain rawness and freshness that Ranbir and Rashmika bring as a pair. While the morality of their relationship is questionable, one can’t deny the spark between them. Their chemistry is electrifying on screen. The song Hua Main gave the audience a glimpse into that, and the whole film capitalises effectively on it as well.
Pre-interval block
The first teaser of Animal showed an insight into an action sequence which seemed unique. Ranbir fighting with the most updated weapons in a dhoti kurta with sports shoes was an appealing sight. And truly, that was just a teaser. The 30 minutes pre-interval block is literally a full film in itself. The adrenaline rush it brings and leaves you with, pumps you up for the second half. Action supremacy in that part is just unmatchable and you can’t help but be in awe of it.
