Kabir Khan’s directorial ’83 is releasing on June 4 in theatres. Ranveer Singh starrer was supposed to release in 2020 but due to the Coronavirus induced lockdown, the release date was postponed. ’83 is based on the 1983 World Cup victory of the Indian Cricket Team. Ranveer is playing the role of Kapil Dev and Deepika Padukone will be seen as Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Bhatia. Kabir is said to have completed all the post-production works of the sports drama and he is all set to work on a new project.
As per a report in Peeping Moon, Kabir Khan is next making a web-series for a streaming platform. It will be a multi-season adventure show and is said to be based on a true event. Currently, it is on the scripting stage and will likely to go on floors towards the end of this year. The details of the project are still kept secret but as per the report in the portal, it will be in the lines of the American television series, Expedition Unknown.
The portal quoted a source saying, “Kabir Khan comes from the background of documentary filmmaking, and hence his every film necessarily has a subtle, yet strong political message. This show will also have a socio-political commentary with a great human story at the forefront.” Kabir and his team are leaving no stone unturned to make this project a worthwhile cinematic experience for the viewers as per the source.
Kabir Khan’s first OTT show was Amazon Prime Video’s The Forgotten Army: Azaadi Ke Liye. Earlier, he has given hits like New York, Ek Tha Tiger, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
