9 Years of YJHD: When Ranbir Kapoor ‘bribed’ Ayan Mukerji to let him kiss Madhuri Dixit

Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin, and Aditya Roy Kapur starrer Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani starrer completes nine years today. The romantic comedy film directed by Ayan Mukerji was released in 2013. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is one of the best films for multiple reasons. As many know, Madhuri Dixit did an item number with RK in the movie. The song titled ‘Ghagra’ made Ranbir’s dream come true as he shared screen space with his ‘first crush’.

It might take you by surprise that Ranbir had bribed Ayan Mukerji to let him kiss Madhuri Dixit on her cheeks when shooting for the item song. Yes, Ranbir had revealed the same in the past.

At the promotional event of the film, Ranbir had shared, “She (Madhuri) was my first love and my heart broke when she got married. I was happy when I got the opportunity to dance with her and see her.”

The actor went on to add that he had to ‘bribe’ Ayan Mukerji in his own way to let him kiss the actress on her cheeks. When he was asked about working with her, Ranbir had said, “She is sincere, passionate and talented. It was great working with her. She is wonderful.”

As the film clocked nine years of its release, fans shared their excitement on Twitter. A fan tweeted, “Friendship, love, travel, laugh, cry, life. Yeh jawaani hai deewani, a film like no other, that I could watch forever happy birthday! #9yearsofjyhd.” Another one wrote on Twitter, “watching ‘yeh jawaani hai deewani’ isn’t enough I need to climb an unexplored mountain with my crush.”

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is one of the best films. It revolved around a shy medical student Naina (played by Deepika), who falls in love with her former classmate Kabir aka Bunny (played by Ranbir), during their hiking trip with friends, Avi and Aditi.
