Legendary actress Sridevi’s untimely death indeed shocked the Indian film fraternity. However, soon after her demise, there were reports being heard that filmmaker Hansal Mehta is planning to make a movie on the life of the late actress. In fact it was while speaking with an agency when he had said, “There will never be another Sridevi. I was about to approach her for a film. That film will now be dedicated to her. If it finds an actor. I will always regret that I didn’t approach her and could not make a movie with her. But I will make a film on her.”
Though he did not share the details about the project, he had added saying, “It will be made. There are actors (who I have in my mind). I might approach Vidya Balan. I will make the film.” (Also Check: WATCH: Ranveer Singh dedicates his first award for Khilji, to Sridevi)
Sadly, though we would love to see Sridevi’s rich and eventful life on screens, this is not the correct news.
The director’s statement was taken in a different context which ultimately turned the actual meaning of the story. Clearing this confusion, Hansal took to his Twitter handle to share his clarification. He tweeted, “CLARIFICATION : I had planned a film for which i wanted to approach Sridevi. That was unfortunately not meant to be. I’m seeing this totally fake news about me approaching @vidya_balan for a Sridevi biopic. This is totally false and there is nothing like that on the anvil.”
“What I said is that I am determined to make the film I’d planned with her. And that I might approach another actor to fit into that character. Obviously this information has been lost in translation and I’m seeing a flurry of alerts with fake news,” added the director in his tweet.
