A faulty aeroplane seat: Yes, that’s what kickstarted Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s relationship

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are one of the most loved Bollywood couples. After being in a relationship for a few years, the couple finally tied the knot in April, this year. And, in just months after their wedding, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor announced their pregnancy. Over the years, it has been speculated that the couple met and fell in love while working on their first film together, Brahmastra.

Well, the Darlings actress was the first guest on the Karan Johar hosted talk show, Koffee With Karan season 7, along with her Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani co-star Ranveer Singh. Finally, Alia spilled the beans on how it all began with Ranbir and her. She opened up about how a malfunctioning aeroplane seat chronicled her relationship with Kapoor.

Alia said, “It was not meant to happen. We were not supposed to be together on New Year’s. We both talked on our flight to Tel Aviv to do a workshop for Brahmastra. We both were seated together. I remember him walking in, and he was supposed to sit next to me, and I was very excited. But then he sat next to me, and something got stuck on his seat.”

She added, “There was some malfunction, so they were going to move him to another seat. And I was like, why is this happening, why is my dream getting shattered? But later, his seat got fixed, and he came back.”

The actress then went on to share Ranbir’s side of the story. Bhatt continued, “Later when we were exchanging notes, even he said, ‘I was getting so upset and irritated, iss seat ko abhi rukna tha when we were sitting together so nicely.’ So that vibe started there only. The rest is history.”

It was only recently when Neetu Kapoor had shared an adorable photo of Alia and Ranbir, wishing the to-be-parents as they announced their pregnancy. Fans speculated that the photo from the day Ranbir proposed to Bhatt for marriage.
