As the “double trouble” season of “Bigg Boss” gears up for its premiere on October 11, superstar Salman Khan gave a sneak peek to what is in the store in the upcoming season of the popular reality TV show.
The contestants from previous seasons on Monday promised more fun, entertainment, twists and surprises packed for the audiences in “Bigg Boss Nau”.
Former contestants Puneet Issar, Pritam Singh, Urvashi Dholakia, Praneet Bhatt, Rajeev Paul, Karishma Kotak, Ali Quli Mirza and Siddharth Bhardwaj gathered to set the pace of the forthcoming season by looking back at their journeys in the show and delving on their “troubled times”.
The evening gained momentum as the song “Ek main aur ek tu…double trouble toh hona hi tha” welcomed the former contestants on the stage.
Puneet called Dolly Bindra as the biggest troublemaker of all the seasons, while Ali dubbed Puneet as the troublemaker in the previous season.
Salman — famous for his notorious qualities like fueling controversies and constants brickbats — will host the show for the sixth time. Salman had to step down from the show’s extended edition “Bigg Boss Halla Bol” last year due to other commitments.
Without spilling any beans about the high points of “Bigg Boss Nau”, Salman said, “It is better to let a surprise remain a surprise… it will be revealed slowly.”
The wit and humour in Salman’s one-liners and leg pulling made everyone chuckle.
Salman, after seeing a witness box on the stage, joked, “I hope this never returns in my life. I am better off standing outside it.”
An Indian version of international series “Celebrity Big Brother”, the show has celebrity contestants locked inside a house for three months under constant camera surveillance. They are without any luxury and are made to live like a common man.
Raj Nayak, CEO of Colors TV, also shared his experience while scripting the theme of the new show.
“My trouble started in April when my wife, daughter and even my driver started to ask me whether Salman will be hosting the show this time as well. But the actual trouble began when we started to approach Salman,” he said.
Talking to IANS, Nayak said that the aim of the forthcoming season is “to make it more engaging” keeping the entertainment and fun in family zone.
Nayak highlighted the importance of this show by noting that the show has helped many celebrities in starting their new professional innings.
“Tanishaa Mukerji, Armaan Kohli and Gauahar Khan got the recognition. Their career got re-boosted in many ways because the show provides 100 days visibility. Hence, it is a great platform,” Nayak said.
