The nepotism and outsider-insider debates have been the heated topic of discussions everywhere. People have been slamming the star kids for making their way into Bollywood with their familial connections. Aahana Kumra who is among the outsiders in Bollywood has totally a different opinion altogether in this entire debate.
She said, “They will come and go and don’t take it seriously” (she laughs) adding, “It has not stopped anyone of us from getting work. I have never been not offered something because some producers’ girl has got it or some child of some stars has got it. I have never been refused work. I have auditioned for everything and have got those roles. Even if I don’t get, I think it’s fine and part of the show and move on because if you are going to wallow and self-pity and just keep thinking about that, then you are never going to move forward. The only way I have moved forward is because I concentrate so much on myself that I don’t have the time to think about somebody’s else. I will feel bad maybe for a few minutes and then I will find something else to do. So, it’s fine and doesn’t matter.”

She further said, “The problem with our generation is that we have stopped enjoying the process and we want the result. I don’t think that’s what the generation earlier did and that’s why they are so content and happy with their work and their work are better than us. We have so many references from the actor of the yesteryears and they didn’t care about wallowing and self-pity and the results. They care about the exploration and about the process. So, enjoy the process.”
