Aaliyah Kashyap OPENS up on receiving ‘Full-On Hate’ for discussing sex, pregnancy with her dad Anurag Kashyap

Anurag Kashyap’s daughter Aaliyah Kashyap has her own YouTube channel where she shares videos of her daily life activities. In some of her videos, her boyfriend, Shane Gregoire also featured. Recently, she posted a video with her father where she discussed topics like sex, teenage pregnancy, drugs, and other things with Anurag. Post the video, both Anurag and Aaliyah faced backlash from a section of people for openly talking about these things. For the uninitiated, in the video, Aaliyah was seen asking Anurag questions sent by fans. She asked him about his views on premarital sex, how he would react if she told him that she was pregnant, etc.

In a recent chat with Zoom, Aaliyah opened up about receiving hate messages from people for the video. Aaliyah said, “I have gotten a lot of messages of people talking about how it’s good to see such a progressive parent. People have questions and they are too afraid to ask their parents and so it’s nice for them to have a medium to get answers to their questions. But there’s also the other side – people that are a little more sheltered or reserved that aren’t very comfortable with it.”

She added, “You should have seen the comments on the video I made with my dad. There’s like these… I don’t even know what people have come on my channel… Full-on hate. Because sex and pregnancy and drugs and blah blah blah. They were just like, ‘How can you talk to your parents about this? You should be ashamed of yourself’.”

In the aforementioned video, talking about her equation with her parents, Aaliyah said she is open with them and they are like her best friends. She also said that when she was growing up, her parents always wanted to have a relationship where it was more like friendship rather than a strict parent-child relationship because in that way she wouldn’t be sneaking around doing stuff.
