‘Aami’ director calls Vidya Balan “unprofessional and unethical” for backing out

We had recently reported how Vidya Balan had backed out of ‘Aami’, citing creative differences with the director of the film, Kamal.

‘Aami’ is based on the life of renowned Malayalam poet and writer Kamala Surayya and along with Vidya, the rest of the cast too was finalized for the venture. But recent reports suggest that Kamal is pretty upset with Vidya’s sudden exit from the project. He said, “Unprofessional and unethical. What else can I say about her backing out of the project after all preparations for the shooting had been done, without even citing a clear reason?”

Kamal also claimed that Vidya informed him of her decision via a text message a week before the shooting was supposed to begin at Ottappalam. And she did not even give a reason for the same. According to the director, the story of Kamala, who converted to Islam during the last years of her life, was apparently very controversial for the actress.

We wonder what the real reason is.
