Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, recently blasted Bollywood for offering content that is unfit for kids. The Perfectionist has time and again expressed absence of entertainment for children in Bollywood. He said that children are watching content not made for them. Therefore he feels that Bollywood should concentrate on inculcating values in the content that will help in shaping a child’s mind.
Aamir Khan said, “If you look at our children’s content, it’s almost negligible, and the little that I see is very scary… It scares me to see the kind of children’s content they are making. We as a creative industry or media have a huge opportunity in front of us. Huge opportunity in building the nation with how we make children perceive what is honesty.”
Aamir further added that, “Today, unfortunately, we are in a time where dishonesty is looked upon. How do we bring in a quality that people can admire?” AS our Industry is the largest in the world, we can have an impact on a generation of people if we make suitable content for children. This is what I feel whether it is the television industry, or the film industry or the media, here is an opportunity for us, to transform and contribute to nation building. We can change a generation of children.”
Aamir Khan even took the Censor Board to task, He said, “I am totally against banning any kind of material. When the I&B minister spoke to us, he also clarified that actually the ministry has no such list of cuss words. It’s a certification board and not the censor board. It was nice to hear that.”
Aamir Khan had expressed his discomfort over violence depicted in Rani Mukerjee’s Mardaani. He had even criticised the verbal violence in ‘AIB Roast’.
