Aamir Khan personally made a phone call to Naga Chaitanya to offer film Laal Singh Chaddha; deets inside

Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha. The film also stars Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The Majili actor had shared a picture of him with Aamir, Kiran Rao from their shoot in Ladakh. Chaitanya posted the picture and penned some sweet words. The South star has now opened up about his upcoming Bollywood film. He revealed how he bagged a role in Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha.

Speaking with Deccan Chronicle, Naga Chaitanya shared that he received a call from Aamir Khan himself. Chay revealed how Aamir had mentioned that he had watched a few of his performances. Aamir even told Chaitanya that he was very impressed with his acting and would be apt for the role. 

The Majili actor shared, “I got a call from Aamir Khan. After discussing the initial modalities of the script, I went to Mumbai for final discussions and was quickly on board. It was like magic! Aamir said he’d watched some of my performances and trailers of my film and was very impressed and that he felt I’d be apt for the role.”

Talking about working with Aamir Khan, Chaitanya said he was amazed by the actor’s level of excitement and energy levels on the set. He even mentioned how Aamir was up-to-date about the developments in the Telugu industry. “He’s a music lover and wanted me to play my ANR and NTR’s old classics, apart from current film songs,” he said.

Laal Singh Chaddha is the Hindi adaptation of the film Forrest Gump, which starred Tom Hanks. The film features Mona Singh as well.
