Aamir Khan is often referred to as ‘Mr Perfectionist’ by his colleagues and fans. The actor does not give up on even one single shot, until he feels he has done justice to it. At the same time, he is quite nitpicky about the characters and does not give a nod until he is convinced about its appeal.
His upcoming film ‘Dangal’ was read out to him thrice by director Nitesh Tiwari, before he decided to be a part of the project.
Aamir’s last two films ‘Dhoom 3’ and ‘PK’ have been blockbusters at the box office and the actor went through a physical transformation, having no presence of excess fat in his body. After that, why did he choose do play an ageing wrestler with a fatty appearance?
Not that he was convinced at the first time. “But I couldn’t get the script out of my head, so I made Nitesh (Tiwari) narrate it to me a third time after eight months, and I decided I just want to do it yaar,” he said, while talking to a leading daily.
“I just have to love the story yaar, it has to speak to me,” he added.
For ‘Dangal’, Aamir’s transformation was indeed challenging. The second half of the film was shot first, for which he weighed 90 kg. Then, while playing his younger self, he flew to USA with his trainer and lost 30 kg through some rigorous training sessions.
Now you know why… it’s his love for films!
