Aamir Khan just called Zaira Wasim the finest actor in the Hindi film industry

Perfectionist Aamir Khan has always backed good cinema and good talent. His last release ‘Dangal’ which saw Zaira Wasim, Suhani Bhatnagar, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra in it, gave us fabulous performances by all the four girls. However, it was young Geeta Phogat aka Zaira Wasim who bagged the National Award and also a second movie ‘Secret Superstar’ that too as a solo female lead.

So, as ‘Secret Superstar’ is nearing its release date, Aamir Khan who also has a pivotal role in the movie has been making some revelations about the same and his co-stars. And to say that the statements are taking us by surprise, would be an understatement. One such surprising statement came when Aamir unexpectedly said that Zaira Wasim is the finest actor in the Hindi film industry.

At the Global Indian International School (GIIS) in Singapore, he spoke about the same. Said Aamir, “The criteria of being a good actor is the same, whether you’re a child or an adult. You have to be the part, be the character and be able to deliver that. So the criteria is the same. I had a wonderful experience working with, whether it was Darsheel Safary in ‘Taare Zameen Par’ or Zaira in ‘Dangal’ or even Kunal Kemmu in ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke’.” (Also Read: Get set for an entertainment explosion as Aamir Khan and Virat Kohli come together!)

He further said, “There’s a very famous quote by a Hollywood personality ‘Never work with animals and children, because they steal the scene away from you and as an audience your heart goes out to them’. These kids are so bright and intelligent. Zaira, for me, if you ask me who is the finest actor in the Hindi film industry today, I would say Zaira. She’s absolutely amazing.” Now that’s one huge statement by the actor.

Talking about the movie ‘Secret Superstar’, Zaira plays the role of a teenage girl named Insia, an aspiring singer who hails from Kashmir. Against the wishes of her orthodox father, she pursues her dream of becoming a singer and starts her journey with a secret YouTube channel. Aamir Khan plays the role of a music producer, slightly flirty with a wacky lifestyle. Produced under the banner Aamir Khan Productions, Zee Studios and Akash Chawla, ‘Secret Superstar’ which is written and directed by Advait Chandan is slated for release on Oct 19, 2017.
