Ratan Tata, the esteemed chairman of the Tata Group for over two decades, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 86 at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Just two days before his passing, he had shared on social media that he was visiting the hospital for routine age-related check-ups.

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, accompanied by his former wife and director Kiran Rao, arrived at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai to pay his respects to Ratan Tata.

Aamir and Kiran were spotted paying their last tributes to the late Industrialist Ratan Tata. Khan expressed his admiration for Tata’s significant contributions to the nation. He stated, “He will always be cherished for his legacy in our country.”

Aamir shared his feelings while addressing the media upon leaving the venue. He said, “Today is a sad day for all of us and for the entire country. The impact he made through his leadership and the Tata Group is invaluable. He was truly a rare individual, and we will all miss him greatly.” Khan also mentioned, “His philanthropy is commendable”.

Kiran Rao also took a moment to reminisce about her time with Tata. She said, “We were fortunate to spend some time with him. He was a kind-hearted soul, and his absence is deeply felt. He contributed immensely to our lives.”

Aamir Khan was seen in a grey short kurta paired with black pants. Kiran Rao opted for a white top and black trousers. Both were sombre as they joined the crowd to honour Tata’s memory.

Details on Ratan Tata’s demise

Ratan Tata’s passing was confirmed at 11:30 PM on Wednesday. He had been in intensive care at Breach Candy Hospital since Monday. Earlier that day, he had reassured his followers via social media that there was no need for concern regarding his health. He stated was undergoing check-ups related to age.

On Thursday morning, Ratan Tata’s body was taken from his residence in a hearse adorned with white flowers. It was taken to the NCPA, where it would be made available for the public to pay their last respects. His final rites are scheduled to take place at the Worli Crematorium in Mumbai. He was granted a state funeral by the Maharashtra government.
