Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Laal Singh Chaddha is one of the most awaited releases in Bollywood this year. The film marks the lead pair’s reunion after the 2009 blockbuster 3 Idiots and its release has been pushed several times due to the pandemic. Last month, the first song from the film, Kahani, was released amidst much fanfare and received a lot of love for its soothing quality. The second song Main Ki Karan, released this month also got love and acceptance from the audience. And now the trailer of Laal Singh Chaddha is set to be unveiled on another special day.
A report in Pinkvilla stated that the trailer of Laal Singh Chadha will be launched on the day of the IPL 2022 finals this month. A source close to the development informed, ““When it’s Aamir Khan, it has to be grand and never heard before. The trailer of Laal Singh Chaddha will be launched on 29th May, the day of the IPL finale. Cashing in on the IPL fervour, the makers of the Aamir Khan starrer have consciously decided to launch the trailer of their film, much to the surprise of the fans of cinema and cricket.” This feat is a unique one and will go down in history of Indian cinema.

The source further added that this is the first time for an Indian film that its trailer will have its launch on the world television platform, attached to such a grand sporting event. “The trailer will stream live on television on Star Sports during the second strategic timeout of the finale match to be held on 29th May creating a revolution and new benchmark in the ad and marketing world,” the source concluded.

Laal Singh Chaddha is an official remake of the 1994 Oscar-winning film Forrest Gump that featured Tom Hanks in the lead. The film as well as Hanks received the Academy Award for the film in 1995. The Hindi remake also features Mona Singh, while marking the Hindi film debut of Naga Chaitanya. It is directed by Advait Chandan and will release theatrically on August 11, 2022. As for the IPL 2022, the edition is all set to enter its playoff stage with three teams already qualified, Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants, and now the last spot will be bagged by either Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals, with the final slated to be on May 29.
