Ira Khan-Nupur Shikhare wedding: Aamir Khan to sing for her daughter, couple to have a registered marriage – Reports

The big day is finally here! Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan is all set for her wedding with fiance Nupur Shikhare, who is a fitness coach by profession. Yesterday, on 2nd January, Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare’s Haldi ceremony took place which was intimate and was attended by their close friends and family. The pre-wedding celebrations had already begun. Aamir Khan and his first wife Reena Dutta’s houses were lit with beautiful lights and decorations. Now, Aamir Khan’s sister Nikhat Khan Hedge has spilled some details about the wedding.

Aamir Khan to sing at daughter Ira Khan’s wedding?

The pre-wedding festivities and the preparations have already begun in full swing. Now, Nikhat Khan Hegde got into a conversation with ETimes where she spoke about the wedding. Sharing some interesting deets, she said that the mehendi function had taken place at Nupur Shikhare’s residence. She said, “Today, we took Mehendi to Nupur’s house. We did the mehendi ceremony. All decided to wear navari with a big nath. We dressed up fully Maharashtrian.”

Along with this, she also said that Aamir Khan is learning to sing and everyone has been practicing and preparing songs on dhol. She said, “It will be a more casual sangeet; we will be playing dhol and singing all wedding songs. Aamir is learning to sing as well. However, for the wedding songs, it is only the ladies who will be performing. Our family from Banaras, Lucknow and Delhi have come. Reena’s side family has come down from Delhi and Punjab.”

Adding to this, Nikhat also said that it won’t be a traditional Maharashtrian wedding like what the people are expecting. However, they are set to tie the knot in a registered marriage today. After the marriage, the new couple will be heading to Udaipur. She clarified, “Udaipur’s plan is all for Ira and Nupur’s friends, and we will be going along. There we will have sangeet and mehendi, but not the Maharashtrian style wedding; it is only a registered marriage.”

A while ago, the groom-to-be Nupur Shikhare took to his Instagram handle and dropped a sweet post for his wife-to-be Ira Khan. Sharing glimpses from the festivities, he wrote, “One more day of being your fiancée @khan.ira. I love you so much.”
