Aamir Khan, who never attends award shows, couldn’t say ‘no’ to this one!

If you’re a Bollywood junkie like us, then you are familiar with Aamir Khan‘s apathy for awards as well as award shows. It’s been a long time since he has stopped going to mainstream award functions. But this time, it was slightly different.

Young achiever Purna Malavath, the youngest girl in the world to have climbed Mt. Everest at 13, recently honoured Aamir with an award for being the year’s best creative maverick.

It was quite an interesting event as Aamir, at that moment, was sitting amid the audience. But he couldn’t turn Purna down and accepted the honour, along with books. (Also Read: Aamir Khan: Shakti Kumar an unusual character for me)

On the professional front, Aamir awaits the release of his home production ‘Secret Superstar’, which has him playing an extended cameo. The film revolves around a young girl, aspiring to be singer but has obstacles like religious and social norms. How she breaks free is an inspirational story, to say the least.

The film stars Zaira Wasim of ‘Dangal’ fame and has been helmed by debutante director Advait Chandan.
