Aanand L Rai: Kangana and I are still good friends

There were reports that all is not well between Aanand L Rai and Kangana Ranaut. Reportedly, the actress had given a tough time to the director while shooting for ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’. However, recently while talking to a leading tabloid, Rai stated that he and Kangana are still good friends.

Rai said, “Kangana and I are still good friends who care for and call on each other. But we’ll wait till we find a happy, meaningful space to work together.”

“During ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, she was a better actor and I guess I was a different director too. I don’t know if it was she or me who got more complicated, but the synergy was different. I won’t say there were conflicts but she understood life differently from me. We made a good film and have never said we won’t work together again, but there needs to be a little gap before we feel we have something to say together,” the filmmaker added.

There were also reports that there will be a third part of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ franchise. However, Rai cleared that the third instalment of the movie is not on the cards. (Also Read: Hansal Mehta refutes reports of Kangana turning an editor for ‘Simran’)

When it comes to her films, Kangana is busy shooting for ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ and will soon start the promotions of her film ‘Simran’. The trailer of the Hansal Mehta directorial will be out tomorrow and we simply can’t wait for it. Talking about Aanand L Rai, the director is busy helming his next which stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. The actor will be seen as a dwarf in the movie. It also stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in pivotal roles, and has a cameo by Salman Khan. The untitled flick is slated to release during Christmas 2018.
