Shah Rukh and Salman Khan sequence in ‘Zero’: Aanand L Rai shares his experience

For getting Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan together in one frame, be it for a photograph or a film, is a big thing; but Aanand L Rai has made that possible in his upcoming film, ‘Zero’. SRK and Salman are superstars but while shooting, the two never made Rai realise they are such big stars.

During the trailer launch of ‘Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi’ which took place yesterday in Mumbai, Aanand L Rai said “I was very happy there,” working with Shah Rukh and Salman. We got to see the teaser of the song on Eid and it set the internet on fire!

Did he feel the pressure while filming the song? “I don’t think so,” Rai said, “I have been very fortunate in that way. I am not telling this as a director, I am telling you this as a human being.”

He added, “If you meet somebody and if you understand that person while interacting or spending time with him then, he doesn’t give you vibes of a star. It creates such a relationship or an atmosphere where they never made me realize that both of them are the superstars with their greatness.”

Talking about ‘Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi’, which Rai has produced, he said, “Through this film, we are trying to spread happiness wherever we are observing conflict. We will not be able to solve these things but through this medium, if we can offer happiness, entertainment and cordial relationship among the audience of these countries then there is nothing better than that.”

Ask him if the actors have made a conscious effort to show the relationship between India and Pakistan in a sarcastic manner, he said, “I think at the end of the day we make films and we can’t go beyond that.”

Coming to ‘Zero’, produced by Aanand L Rai and Gauri Khan, the film is a science fiction romantic drama written by Himanshu Sharma. Besides Shah Rukh Khan, the film also stars Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Abhay Deol and Tigmanshu Dhulia in important roles and is set to release on December 21, 2018.
