Is Abhinav Bindra biopic shelved? Here’s what Anil Kapoor has to say

Yesterday we came across reports of Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra’s biopic starring Anil Kapoor and his son Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor being put on hold. Thankfully, putting all the rumours to rest Anil has finally reacted to these reports.

The Dil Dhadakne Do actor took to his Twitter handle to rubbish reports of Abhinav Bindra biopic being shelved.

According to a SpotboyE report both, Anil and Harsh, moved on to their next film Thar as Abhinav Bindra biopic was put on hold for the time being. However, reacting to this report, Anil took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “This is not true. Apna source check karo (check your source)”

In the biopic, Anil and Harsh will be playing father-son with the latter essaying the titular role. Ever since Abhinav Bindra biopic was announced in 2017, the project has faced several issues. While Ek Thi Dayan director Kannan Iyer was directing this biopic, last year Harsh shared a post welcoming Heeraz Marfatia onboard as the director. “Very excited to have Heeraz Marfatia onboard to direct @saiwyn to write and @anilskapoor to co-star in my dream project,” Harsh has written in his post.

Harsh has been prepping for this role since 2017. The shooting of this biopic was supposed to start by the end of 2020. However owing to the pandemic, the film never went on floors. Well, now that Anil has put the rumours of the biopic being put on the backburner to rest, we hope the film goes on the floor soon. The biopic will be based on Abhinav Bindra’s autobiography, A Shot at History: My Obsessive Journey to Olympic Gold and Beyond.
