Abhishek Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Manmarziyaan’ is facing legal trouble. The Anurag Kashyap and Aanand L Rai’s upcoming release has been served notice by Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Board for shooting in an ecologically sensitive zone, where they were not supposed to.
As reported by Mid Day, The producers have been asked to explain how they shot in the prohibited area of Thajiwas glacier. The Sonmarg Development Authority has banned vehicle movement in the area following an order by the J&K high court.
As per the report, “The Tourism Board has requested them to revert within a week on how they procured the permission to shoot in the stretch, which is an ecologically sensitive zone.” (Also Check: Taapsee Pannu turns teacher for Vicky Kaushal on the sets of ‘Manmarziyaan’)
A local environmentalist Faiz Bakshi has filed a PIL, that states that certain rules were overlooked for the 18 April shoot. Bakshi has also questioned the local administration’s involvement in the fiasco as the production team could not possibly have done it by themselves.
The spokesperson of Colour Yellow Productions,said, “Proper permissions were in place from both, the Department of Tourism and Department of Wildlife Protection in Kashmir. We were sensitive about shooting there, and followed all the terms and conditions put forward to be allowed to shoot there.”
