Abhishek Kapoor‘s “Fitoor” might have received a mixed response from critics but the romantic drama has been “appreciated” by cinema lovers for its unique presentation. The director is “encouraged” with the response.
“Fitoor“, released on February 12, features Aditya Roy Kapur, Katrina Kaif and Tabu in the lead roles.
The film’s dramatic love story and visual opulence has received a thumbs up from movie aficionados, thus taking its opening weekend total to Rs.14.11 crore.
The director says he is happy with the response.
“My aim was to create a memorable movie going experience unique to its world and story. I am truly encouraged that cinema lovers have appreciated it for what it is,” Kapoor said in a statement.
“Fitoor” is based on Charles Dickens’ novel “Great Expectations” and is the love story of a poor boy and a rich girl.
