The second wave of Covid-19 has affected many sectors and the film industry has not been immune to its ill effects. The film business has been struck once again by the pandemic; movie and shows have come to a halt. The release dates of films have been affected all around the nation and one of them is the Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan starrer Acharya.

On Tuesday, the makers of Acharya announced that the movie has been postponed. Acharya was set to release in the theatres on May 13, on the occasion of Eid but Covid-19 played a downer. Konidela Pro Company and co-producer Matinee Entertainment shared a statement on Twitter that read, “Keeping in view of the pandemic situation, #Acharya movie will not be releasing on May 13. New Release date will be announced once the situation becomes normal. Wear mask, Stay home & stay safe! #AcharyaPostponed (sic).”

Apart from Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan, Acharya also stars Kajal Aggarwal as Chiranjeevi’s love interest, Sonu Sood, Jisshu Sengupta, Saurav Lokesh, Kishore, Tanikella Bharani, Ajay, Sangeetha Krish and Regina Cassandra.  The movie is directed by Koratala Siva.
