Veteran actor Dalip Tahil’s son Dhruv Tahil has been arrested by Mumbai Police’s Anti Narcotic Cell for repeated purchase of drugs. The Anti Narcotic Cell also found bank transactions and Whatsapp chats between Dhruv and a drug peddler. Dhruv had allegedly purchased the said drugs from peddler Muzaamil Abdul Shaikh.
The Whatsapp chats of Shaikh revealed that Dhruv had procured drugs several times between 2019 and 2021. It has also been found that Dhruv had made payment six times into the drug peddlers accounts for purchase of narcotics drugs. The police officials seized Shaikh’s phone and discovered WhatsApp chats between him and Dhruv Tahil, who requested for narcotics drugs several times from the drug peddler.
The 30-year-old also deposited money into Muzammil’s bank account six time for buying drugs. He transferred money from his Yes Bank account to Shaikh’s Bank of India account. The police officials have commented that Dhruv remained in touch with the drug peddler since March 2019 till date. He was arrested after his involvement became clear. The ANC Bandra Unit is busy conducting investigations in the drugs case. The police issued summons to Dhruv after his name surfaced and will now be produced in the court on Thursday, May 6.

Dalip Tahil, who has worked in several hit Hindi films, denied his son’s arrest while talking to Times Of India. He didn’t talk much about the matter. Dalip had recently introduced his son on Instagram with a post. Sharing a picture of him, he had written, “My son Dhruv aspiring Actor.” The post got good wishes from his colleagues such as Nafisa Ali, who had called him ‘handsome’ while Suchitra Pillai wished him well.
