Coming from a family that has the art of cinema running in its veins, Meghna Gulzar’s way of storytelling has been phenomenal, always. Be it the sensitivity of her debut film ‘Filhaal…’, or the nail-biting thrill of her last, ‘Talvar’, she has been able to weave a magic on screen which is a difficult feat to achieve.
We all know the lady is adapting ‘Calling Sehmat’, a novel by Harinder S. Sikka, which is based on the life of a woman who turned spy for the nation, at great risk. Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal have been finalised as leads for the film, and now, the two have started prepping for their respective roles.
Meghna has organised a workshop for the actors wherein they will be working hard to get into the skin of their characters. The movie follows the story of a Kashmiri woman who is married to a Pakistani officer, and turns spy for India. Both Vicky and Alia are working on their dialect and accent so as to sound utterly convincing on screen. Well, we are sure of their calibre and know that they will bring the characters alive. The novel, and the movie, both are based on the backdrop of 1971 war. The shooting of the film is all set to start by the end of this month.
The concept is interesting and it would be quite a nice cinematic experience to see these two talented actors coming together for the first time.
