Adipurush: Prabhas, Kriti Sanon starrer gets a new release date; Details inside

Adipurush starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon is one of the most-anticipated movies. The Om Raut directorial also features Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh in pivotal roles. The movie was all set to release in theatres on January 12, 2023. But here is the latest update on the much awaited film.

The makers have decided to postpone the release of Adipurush. The film which will also be presented in 3D and IMAX will now hit the screens on June 16, 2023.

The makers released a statement explaining the decision for the postponement. They said, ” As we want to give a ‘complete visual’ experience to viewers, and hence need more time on the film.”

Sharing the statement Om Raut wrote, “Adipurush is not a film, but a representation of our devotion to Prabhu Sri Ram and commitment towards our sanskriti and history. In order to give a complete visual experience to the viewers, we need to give more time to the teams working on the film. Adipurush will now release on June 16, 2023. We are committed to make a film that India is proud of. Your support, love and blessings is what keeps us going.”

The teaser of Adipurush received criticism from fans for poor VFX of the movie.  The team is now working towards improving the visual experience of of the Prabhas starrer for the viewers.

Adipurush is based on Ramayana and focuses on Raghava (Prabhas) who travels to Lanka with Laxman and Hanuman to rescue his wife Janaki (Kriti Sanon). She has been kidnapped by Lankesh played by Saif Ali Khan.
