Saif Ali Khan’s roles may or may not caught everyone’s attention but his statements surely land him in the spotlight. The actor’s latest comment on his character of demon king Raavan in Om Raut’s mythological epic ‘Adipurush’ has created an uproar on social media. So much so that Saif’s name has been trending on Twitter since morning.
In a recent interview, Saif revealed that ‘Adipurush’ will make Raavan’s character humane and it will justify why he abducted Sita. This revelation has caused Twitterati to lash out at the actor with a section of them demanding the removal of Saif from the film. Read on to know what exactly Saif said about his role in Om Raut’s film.
In ‘Adipurush’, Prabhas will be playing the role of Rama whereas Saif will be seen playing Lankesh, the evil king of Lanka. Speaking about his role in the upcoming film, Saif told Mumbai Mirror, “It’s interesting to play a demon king, less strictures in that. But we will make him humane, up the entertainment quotient, justify his abduction of Sita and the war with Ram as revenge for what was done to his sister Surpanakha by Lakshman, who cut off his nose.”
Well, as soon as Saif’s statement came out he was targeted by the netizens who lashed out at him. While a section of the netizens urged the director to drop Saif from his film for his ‘unwanted’ statements; there were some who accused Saif of hurting people’s religious sentiments.
