Shit has hit the roof with the controversy broiling around Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmavati’. From bashing him up and vandalising the sets, the protesters, who call themselves representatives of the Rajput culture, things further turned serious when threats were made on the life of the director and Deepika Padukone, who plays the titular role. And now, one actor, who also plays a pivotal part in the movie, has lashed out once again. She is none other than Aditi Rao Hydari, who plays the role of Alauddin Khilji’s (Ranveer Singh) wife.
She took to Twitter and expressed her views. “I don’t get it. I love my country, but I don’t understand it anymore,” tweeted a distraught Aditi.
Here’s her tweet.
Why aren't people as angry and demanding change when women are raped, violated, sold, beaten, pimped, killed in the womb.
I don't get it.😐
I love my country, but I don't understand it anymore. I hope my country understands what it's becoming.
can I have my country back pl 🙏🏻— Aditi Rao Hydari (@aditiraohydari) November 22, 2017
This is not the first time Aditi spoke about the issue. Just a couple of days back, the actress had tweeted about the same, and was even trolled. For the unawares, Aditi herself has connections with two royal families. (Also Read: Padmavati Row: Aditi, Arjun, Parineeti, Varun question the government’s silence)
Here is what she tweeted earlier.
Basically this is a 'supari'
Its a free for all, is there no difference between a gangster & a political leader?
The government is quiet… why?
This is a deep embarrassment for india 😐Ps- And now I'll be trolled and abused and told my name is 'hydari'
Pps- 🙄 🤦🏻♀️🙅 https://t.co/OAJyYL4MYO— Aditi Rao Hydari (@aditiraohydari) November 20, 2017
Due to lack of certification by the CBFC, and other protests, the makers have already deferred the release of the movie, postponing it indefinitely from the original date of December 1. It is to be seen whether the movie will see the light of the day. We really hope woes of ‘Padmavati’ come to an end.
